When Should Newborn Photos Be Taken?

Pregnancy is an exciting time, and once your baby is here, you will want to capture every moment. One of the most important times to document your baby is when they were brand new. But when should newborn photos be taken?

The best age to photograph newborn babies is 7-10 days old. Babies tend to still sleep for most of their day. They typically love being swaddled and many sleep through most of the session. But, do not worry if your baby fusses. Rita and her assistants are trained in newborn safety and have held hundreds of babies over the years. They are here to take care of your baby’s needs first and foremost.

When scheduling your newborn photoshoot, keep in mind that you will want to do it when you and your baby are both comfortable. Our studio is set up to make mom and baby both feel pampered with everything you need from outfits for baby and stunning gowns for mom.

The first few days are hard. As a mom of two, Rita knows exactly how difficult the days can be. Having your portrait taken during this post-partum stage can seem overwhelming. This is why Loomis Lane Photography strives to take care of everything you need, including professional hair and make-up for mom. Get pampered at the studio while Rita and her assistant photograph and take care of your newborn.

When it comes to what time of day should you have your newborn photographed, I schedule them in the morning. Babies tend to be more alert and less fussy this time of day. We do everything we can to set up your baby for a perfect newborn photoshoot.

I offer a variety of props and outfits in my studio. Loomis Lane Photography specializes in timeless images that highlight the subject. I provide a variety of blankets, wraps, bonnets, and accessories for your baby to wear. The studio is fully stocked and ready to help create timeless images of your baby.
